To celebrate the long-standing heritage of Virago Modern Classics and the designers who made the hardback range such a success, in Autumn 2015 we launched three sets of mugs and notebooks based on some of our best loved classics. We’ve now added three new designs to the collection for 2016 – Angela Carter’s The Magic Toyshop, Molly Keane’s Good Behaviour and Highsmith’s iconic The Talented Mr Ripley.

You can buy the full range at Waterstones, online at The Literary Gift Company, and a selection of UK independent bookshops and retailers. Find the full stockist list at the link below.

I live in the US, and wonder who will be selling the new mugs? I’ve been over to Waterstones UK online, and find no mention of the mugs.

I’m in desperate need of the “Excellent Women” mug, and so are Barbara Pym’s myriad fans over here. Help!

    Sincerely yours, etc.

Hi Martha, we won’t be selling the mugs in the US, and at the moment they’re only available in stores in the UK. When we have more stock (as they have been extremely popular!) they should be available to buy online, and Waterstones offer a worldwide shipping service. Watch this space!

What a lovely idea! I particularly love the “Excellent Women” design by Neisha Crossland – then again I am a devoted follower of Barbara Pym’s writing … and drinking tea … how about matching tea plates? 🙂 well done Virago !

A Virago fan of long standing, and a voracious reader from a very early age, I’m now almost 85, I’m always interested in new Virago publications. Love the new mugs, especially that for Barbara Pym, one of my favourite writers.
All good wishes for the year to come.

Have messaged my daughter visiting London to please duck in to Waterstones and secure a Barbara Pym mug for me! Must have and as I live “down under” I have impressed upon her that this is an emergency. Love them.
