Susan Fletcher at Blackheath Library 2016

Monday 13th June 2016

6.30pm – 7.30pm

Venue: Blackheath Library Old Dover Rd, London SE3 7BT

????????????????????????????????????Join Virago author Susan Fletcher discussing the genius of Vincent van Gogh and her astounding and brilliantly satisfying new novel Let Me Tell You About a Man I Knew.

Susan Fletcher moves beyond the dry bones of biography as we follow van Gogh’s final year, in the company of Charles, van Gogh’s doctor, and his wife Jeanne Trabuc. Van Gogh painted both Charles and Jeanne, and it was on seeing Jeanne’s portrait that Susan knew she wanted to write about Jeanne’s year of knowing the artist.

‘Absolutely loved this book! Brimming with sumptuous historical detail and atmosphere’ – Beverley Crofts

‘A mesmerising tale . . . beautifully executed. Within moments of reading the opening pages, I was successfully transported to the exact location of the story and embedded firmly in the french countryside at the turn of the nineteenth century’ – Katherine Sunderland
